Reporting on Immigration Today: Know the Risks and Responsibilities A Panel Co-Hosted by NAHJ and Define American
As journalists covering the biggest stories in immigration news, these panelists know that undocumented sources are more reluctant than ever to give their names and show their faces. At the same time, they are under pressure to prove authenticity and engage their audiences. Our panelists will discuss how they, as digital, radio and television journalists, navigate these new realities of immigration reporting – whether on the southern border, in Haiti or in U.S. neighborhoods. Moderated by former New York Times immigration reporter, Liz Robbins, now the Director of Journalism Partnerships at Define American, which created a toolkit for the use of anonymous sources. All participants will receive a link to the guide following the program.
