Board Elections 2022

The Atlanta Chapter elections committee will begin accepting nominations from June 3 through July 13 for candidates to serve in the following positions on the chapter's board:

  1. President
  2. Vice President
  3. Financial Officer
  4. Secretary

Interested? Here’s how you can qualify to appear on the ballot:

  • Make sure you’re a member in good standing as of July 13, which means your dues must be up-to-date. Need to renew? Visit: NAHJ Membership Portal
  • All the officer candidates must collect 3 nominations from NAHJ chapter members in good standing. Regular, Academic, Lifetime members are eligible to sign and vote for all positions.
    • Associate members are eligible to run, nominate and vote for the At-Large position only.

2022 Election Timeline for Chapter Board Elections:

June 3: Call for Nominations

July 13: Deadline to submit 3 signatures. Date of the record: deadline to become a member in good standing and be eligible to vote.

July 14: Online voting begin (Polls open two weeks before the polls close)

July 21: Polls close at 5 p.m. ET and results are announced

Once you receive your nominations:

The election chair will contact you to confirm and ask for the nomination package which includes:
  • Election running statement
  • Current portrait (headshot)
  • Recent Resume (Freelancers might be asked to provide two professional references)
  • Links to 2-3 most recent news stories from TV, online or print news outlets

    Current chapter leaders seeking re-election are exempted from the nomination package.
