Immigration Reporting Tools for Journalists is a three-hour training workshop for journalists on how to use data tools and research sites to enhance immigration reporting at the local level. Training will cover U.S. Census data on immigration at the community level and other valuable research sites and search tools. Experienced journalism trainers will lead you on a data-finding expedition, and you will leave the workshop with tips and ideas for compelling immigration storytelling.

NAHJ ha unido fuerzas con Google News Initiative para ayudar al periodismo a prosperar en la era digital. Google ha puesto mejor de sus tecnologías al servicio de los periodistas para que sean eficientes, creativos y seguros a la hora de llevar a cabo sus trabajos de investigación.
En este taller la instructora explicara una serie de herramientas que actualmente son gratuitas y están al servicio de los periodistas. De entre todas las herramientas disponibles en esta colección destaca especialmente Pinpoint, que permite a los periodistas revisar rápidamente una gran cantidad de documentos para la búsqueda, identificación y organización de las personas, organizaciones y ubicaciones que se mencionen de manera más frecuente en los mismos, ahorrando bastante tiempo a los propios periodistas para que puedan dedicarlo al desarrollo del contenido de sus piezas informativas.
