Austin Chapter Board Elections 2021

The Austin Chapter elections committee will begin accepting nominations now through May 31 for candidates to serve in the following positions on the chapter's board:

  1. President
  2. Vice President
  3. Financial Officer
  4. Secretary
  5. At-Large

Interested? Here’s how you can qualify to appear on the ballot.

  • Make sure you’re a member in good standing as of May 31, which means your dues must be up-to-date. Need to renew? Visit: NAHJ Membership Portal
  • All the officer candidates must collect 1 nomination from any NAHJ chapter member in good standing. Regular, Academic, Lifetime members are eligible to sign and vote for all positions.
    • Associate members are eligible to run, nominate and vote for the At-Large position only.

2021 Election Timeline for chapter board elections:

May 18th:  Call for Nominations
May 31th: Deadline to submit 1 signature before 11:59 p.m. Deadline to become a member in good standing and be eligible to vote
May 31st – June 3rd: Vetting process. The Elections Committee will screen candidates 
June 3rd: Online voting begin (Polls open two weeks before the polls close)
June 17th: Polls close at 5 p.m. ET and results are announced
