Washington D.C. Chapter Board Elections 2021

The Washington D.C. Chapter elections committee has extended the nomination process from now through June 25th for candidates to serve in the following positions on the chapter's board:

  1. President
  2. Vice President
  3. Financial Officer
  4. Secretary
  5. At-Large

Interested? Here’s how you can qualify to appear on the ballot.

  • Make sure you’re a member in good standing as of June 25th, which means your dues must be up-to-date. Need to renew? Visit: NAHJ Membership Portal
  • All the officer candidates must collect 1 nomination from any NAHJ chapter member in good standing. Regular, Academic, Lifetime members are eligible to sign and vote for all positions. 
    • Associate members are eligible to run, nominate and vote for the At-Large position only.

2021 Election Timeline for chapter board elections:

May 17th:  Call for Nominations
June 25thDeadline to submit 1 signature before 11:59 p.m. Deadline to become a member in good standing and be eligible to vote
June 28thVetting process. The Elections Committee will screen candidates 
July 5th: Online voting begin (Polls open two weeks before the polls close)

July 17th: Polls close at 5 p.m. ET and results are announced
