NATIONAL REGIONAL ELECTIONS

This year NAHJ members will be electing regional directors and a student representative:

Regional directors will represent the members living in their geographic region. They must live in the region they want to represent and members can only vote for their specific regional representative. You must have a paid Regular or Academic membership active on June 12th to qualify for the ballot. Regional directors serve a two-year term, staggered in contrast to the national representatives on the board.

The student representative must be a journalism student who will be enrolled in school during the 2023-2024 school year, with an active student membership with NAHJ. Student members can only run to be student representatives and this is the only position they can vote for. The student membership must be active on May 15th to qualify for the ballot. The student representative serves a one-year term.

Each Regional Director shall be nominated and elected by a vote of Regular and Academic Members from their geographic region and shall serve a two-year term. Associate members are not eligible to nominate/vote for National Board positions.

Only students are able to nominate for the Student Rep position. Students are not able to nominate/vote for other national board positions.
