NAHJ has joined forces with Google News Initiative to help journalism thrive in the digital age. The 2020 election cycle and Jan. 6 Capitol riot crystalized the importance of combatting false stories and misinformation. In an era when the public is increasingly hostile toward media, the challenge goes beyond simply getting details correct. As such it is important to evolve. Tech tools can expedite and increase verification capabilities. For some journalists having access to these training sessions can be time-consuming and expensive. Therefore, the National Association of Hispanic Journalists has teamed up with Google’s News Initiative to bring journalists up to speed in the latest available tools to build capacity in newsrooms at scale.
