Daniel Shoer Roth
Service Journalism Editor, El Nuevo Herald

My passion for telling stories began at an early age. As the grandchild of Holocaust survivors that fled to Latin America, becoming a journalist was the only way to make sense of the world. Today, I have a reporting career that spans over 25 years, continents and platforms. If there’s one common thread that defines my work, it’s versatility. I am both curious and platform agnostic: from the printed word to social media producing, I fervently believe that story determines medium. I am the recipient of awards from the National Association of Hispanic Journalists (NAHJ), the National Association of Hispanic Publications, Society of Professional Journalists, and three GLAAD awards. In 2011, I was named one of Miami’s “100 Most Influential Latinos." My best role to date? Uncle to Jacob, David and Max.
